Mission Statement

The OAKDALE JOINT UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT Transportation Department is dedicated to passenger safety. We are committed to providing the highest standards in passenger transportation. Our staff is committed in serving our district with a friendly, safe and secure transportation service, meeting our districts needs. Our school buses provide a safe ride to school for student’s that live beyond the established walking distances set forth by the school district. Current walking distances for student’s are 1 ½ miles for elementary students ( K-8th ) and 2 miles for high school students ( 9th-12th).

Our Department consists of 19 School Buses, 10 home to school/school to home routes, and a staff of 16 employees. On a normal school day, our school buses transport approximately 1700 students (am/pm). Our school buses travel an average of 200,000 home to school / school to home miles per year. In addition, they also travel 28,000 miles per year on school field trips and athletic events. Our office is open from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays. Our department concentrates on safety as our number one priority. We have an excellent safety record.
