Text Box: Fair Oaks After School Program Text Box: NOVEMBER 2011 Text Box: 3 months down and 7 to go!! Attention parents, students and staff. For the month of November we are having students do there part to support the men and women who serve our country. The holidays are right around the corner with Thanksgiving being only 4 weeks away and Christmas less than 2 months away. Our students in the After School Program have begun writing letters of thanks to the soldiers who are serving over seas and will not be able to spend time with their loved ones for the Text Box: Holidays. We also have included drawings from the students for the troops to look at. The After School Program at Fair Oaks feels it is highly important that we remember those who are away from friends and family, especially during the time of the holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. Letters will be sent to an outlet in the Bay Area to then be delivered. We will take half of the letters and drawings and send them to soldiers for Thanksgiving and take the other half and send it to them for Christmas. A special thanks to all Text Box: the teachers who helped participate in this activity. It is because of generous people and kind hearted students that hopefully a few soldiers over seas have a happier holiday season. Our party was a huge success with over:150 hotdogs served, 160 bags of chips, over 100 Capri Sun drinks, 2 cases of Text Box: water, cookies, hot dog buns and anything extra that we needed, you parents came through. We are very lucky to have such dedicated parents that take the time to make sure we have everything we need. Once again, thank you Text Box: for all of your hard work and generous donations.
