Science Parent Letter
Dear Parent and/or
Guardian,
I am very pleased to have your
son/daughter in my Physical Science class.
The attached course information and lab safety rules have been discussed
in class. I would appreciate it if you could take the time to read this
information, discuss your expectations with your child, and fill in the bottom
portion of this form with contact information and returning it with your child
tomorrow.
Many interesting and exciting topics
will be discussed and investigated in this class such as; matter, motion,
energy, the atom, chemical reactions, and the solar system. Each of these topics correspond directly to
the 8th grade California Science Content Standards. Throughout the
year your child will be doing the following in this class; reading, writing,
taking notes, investigating, and viewing videos about the above listed
topics. Most of the videos come from the
curriculum publisher but I will add October Sky and Apollo 13 to the curriculum
during the solar system unit. You are
welcome to preview any curricular materials that you may have questions and or
concerns about. You are also welcome to
call and/or visit the classroom to discuss your child’s progress at any
time. Remember that I am here to help
your child SUCCEED!
