StudentGame Club

Game Club is held during both lunches on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  A variety of board/card games and ping pong can be enjoyed by all.

Science Olympiad

Congratulations to the 2013 Science Olympiad Team:  Brian Anglim, Hailey Brown, Meghan Caron, Arjun Dulai, Savannah Larsen, Taryn Lane, Jude Markel, Breanna Morgan, Garrett Paulus, Emily Turner, Alejandra Vargas, and Liz White.  The competition was held on Saturday at CSU Stanislaus.  All team members demonstrated outstanding academic skills as well as excellent team work and participation.  We beat out 15 teams throughout Stanislaus County and earned 6th place over all, moving up from 7th last year.

Special Recognition goes to Taryn Lane and Savannah Larsen who took First place in the Rocks and Mineral competition, to Liz White and Hailey Brown for taking first place in Write It/Do It, and to Garrett Paulus for winning a total of 4 metals.   Other Metal Winners were:

2nd Place Garrett Paulus and Taryn Lane in Water Quality. 

3rd Place:  Alejandra Vargas and Emily Turner in Food Science, Taryn Lane and Garrett Paulus in Keep the Heat, Brian Anglim and Meghan Caron in Metric Mastery, Garrett Paulus and Hailey Brown in Road Scholar, and Meghan Caron and Savannah Larsen in Sound of Music. 

4th Place: Jude Markel and Arjun Dulai in Mission Possible. 

5th place: Garrett Paulus and Brian Anglim in Shock Value.

CJSF

The California Junior Scholarship Federation (CJSF) is a state-wide organization honoring academic excellence.  Students who qualify sign up each semester and have the opportunity to attend a field trip a semester.  In addition, students who sign up for CJSF at least two of the three semester they are eligible (7th graders are not eligible in their fall semester because they have yet to earn a junior high report card), will graduate with CJSF honors, receiving a special certificate and pin.  For more information, please contact Ms. Wegener at gwegener@oakdale.k12.ca.us

Colorguard

Looking for something new and fun to do after school? An activity that is competitive and exciting to do?  Introducing the sport of the arts: Colorguard!  It is the mission of the Oakdale Junior High Colorguard Program to provide our units with an educationally sound and competitive environment.  It is our goal to provide opportunities for all interested parties to learn from each other as well as compete against each other in friendly and fair venues.  It is our pledge to nurture, educate, encourage, and prepare our units for competition and life.

  Every student joining the program assumes the responsibility of upholding and improving upon the high standards and goals that we have set for ourselves

  There are three overall goals for the season:

Develop and enhance pride and self-discipline.

Develop and enhance student enjoyment and understanding of music and performance.

Develop and enhance performance skills on flag, rifles, as well as dance.
